If your bathroom already has a Geberit in-wall cistern, you can simply replace the toilet pan without changing the cistern. The main exception is Villeroy & Boch, which is designed to work with its own proprietary in-wall cistern system. For new builds or complete bathroom renovations, purchasing a complete package that includes the pan, cistern and flush plate ensures everything is fully compatible from the outset.

2. Check the flush technology

Common to both Fienza and Mimi, the Rimless and Tornado flush pans offer a swirling water flow that removes limescale whilst not showing up on the bowl. Brands such as Villeroy & Boch have both DirectFlush and TwistFlush technology on their models, such as Subway and Architectura. Both being rimless systems makes cleaning a very easy task.

3. Match the flush plate to the bathroom

Most toilets have a typical flush volume of 3.3L to 4.5L. However, it may vary in some models depending on the variant and whether it is a dual-flush toilet.
